Praxus comes from the word Praxis, which is Greek for putting theoretical knowledge into practice.  More specifically, it describes the synthesis of theory and practice in which each informs the other.  How do we combine theory and practice?  All of our programs are internship based so that while you are studying for a professional designation, you are also working in the field and seeing firsthand how theory translates to practice.

So why Praxus and not Praxis?  Well we are not simply a word or an idea, but a community of learners.  We believe that learning is a process of transformation through participation.  Learning is not a one way communication between instructor and student but rather collaboration between everyone involved: students, instructors, employers, industry subject matter experts, casual observers.  Praxus is not a college so much as a community platform, a centre, in which learners contribute support and direction in their shared experiences.
